Makeup

I had never worn makeup until 2 years ago.
Only on the stage for performance.
After the performance, I wipe out everything by wet towel which is served at the restaurant People around me was appalled, but I felt so much better.

I had not even used face lotion. However, I could not overcome age.
My skin, washed only by soap, is bound to get dry after long flight in the airplane.
I started using so called humidity retention liquid, then night cream.

Still, I am far from everyday makeup. It is somewhat relevant to the fact that I live in Brussels. People here usually do not wear makeup. Even though, when sun shines they turn over on their back and put their faces on the sunshine, disregarding the danger of ozone destruction. It is as if they try not to pass the chance of getting the sun shine to them. Suntan lotions are sold with different degree of effectiveness. When my son was about to play soccer in a hot weather, the coach painted him with the strongest lotion called "suntan lotion 20". I went for hi s support without putting lotion, and was told "you tanned a lot".

Light-brown skin is a symbol of "I have been in vacation. The 90% of people go to south for vacation. It is somewhat an interesting situation. There is such a joke in Italy.
A Milanese(northern people) quarrels with a Napolitano(southern people).
A Milanese says "Why don't you work more?"
A Napolitano answers back "What for?"
"Of course, to enjoy vacation "
"This is what we are just doing"
Those who cannot go on vacation roast skin in tanning salon.
I often see an elderly person whose skin is brown and wrinkled. She does not look good at all.

There is a word "whitening"
In Japan, what is important is how to protect skin from ultraviolet rays.
In Australia, it is almost a sin to go outside without sunglasses and hat.
I don't know whether this concept of whitening start spreading before the danger of ozone was recognized or after.

I come back to Japan once every two month, and I started wearing makeup to see Japanese. I think it is not nice to show my face being rough or stained at point-blank range in a crowded train.

Professional makeup for photography is a completely different thing. Quickly, stains disappear, dark circles disappear, and an face outline becomes clear It is just like a miracle. When a base of the makeup is made, then the lights and shade are put on. In this way, lack of sleep creates no problem Great job. I am impressed.

When I was in Japan, I bought various cosmetics recommended by the makeup artist I mentioned above. Going in to the various drug stores for the first time, and I was surprised by the seer variety of products.
Like Urashimataro ( an outdated person), I had never been to these places.
Usually, I do not use any drugs at all. Nutritional supplements for me are the things I only see on the strap advertisement of the train. For such me, it is a good way of killing time to test various but similar cosmetics.
Well, I buy some of them and try immediately. This time, I bought fairly expensive ones and I was complacent.
"I am beautiful, amn't I?" I asked my sister.
I feel my face become good for going out.

My daughter of a certain age wants to try everything.
"Don't use that much, because they are expensive"
Despite what I say, she uses these cosmetics and goes to school. There is no restrictions on accessories and makeup. Still, there is not one who wear makeup so heavily. Parents know this is the pass everyone goes along.

I had heard that it is the best to use hands.
It is not convenient for playing violin.
Then, I use them after practice.
Then, I washed my hands.
What amount of oil! Simple washing by soap is not enough. The oil was stuck firm to a washstand as well. The sheer amount of oil was disgusting.

Before it took 2 minutes, but now it takes 10 minutes to make a bas, to put eye line, to make lights and shades, and to powder.

I enthusiastically make up and entered the kitchen where the family was.
"…"
"How? Am I beautiful?"
"Why you paint so white?"
"Well"
"You look like a dead person"
"…"
"You are not Mama"

I remember Japanese make up artist told me.
She said "I tend to take care of foreigners. They ask me to use the foundation of a dark color anyway. Please do not make me like a dead person"
Now I understand.
Japanese long for whitening, and White people yearn for light-brown.
It might be an universal rule of "the next turf is blue".
That is why my cosmetics sleep in my closet.
